START A CHAPTER AT YOUR COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY

 Here are a few steps to take when you are looking to start a chapter at your college or university.

  • Reach out to your college's student organization center and learn about their processes for establishing a new organization on campus.

  • Find an advisor. Their role is to provide support, serve as the liaison to the rest of the college, mentor members, and travel to conferences with students.

  • Recruit members on campus. Focus on your friends, classmates, faculty announcements, and former DECA members.

  • Collect and submit dues to Collegiate DECA.

  • Get organized – elect officers, plan activities, connect with your state officers for ideas. 

  • Conduct fundraisers to help support member attendance at conferences.

  • Promote your chapter on campus. Visit the college President or Dean, and work with the college's public relations department to celebrate your results and success!
